Rajanpur’s Tamman Gorshani residents worried over Pakistan military’s evacuation orders

Residents in the tribal region of Tamman Gorshani in Rajanpur, Pakistan, have expressed concerns over evacuation orders issued by the Pakistani military in preparation for an upcoming missile test. The report identifies several areas, including Alaqa Maadi, Moza Grozan, Drazh Thal, Moza Chambhri, Moza Loot Lar Sham, Khilchaas, and Raikani Gehoor, where evacuation instructions have been disseminated.

Despite the apprehensions voiced by the locals about leaving their homes, the military officials have purportedly warned that those who choose to remain within the evacuation zones will be accountable for any personal or property damages. The community members are distressed about relocating, especially with their belongings and livestock.

The report also recalls previous missile tests conducted in various parts of Tamman Gorshani in 2018, leading to economic setbacks for the residents. Allegations of an increase in infectious diseases following the 2018 tests have emerged, but the lack of adequate medical facilities in the area has made it challenging to validate these claims. As the 15-day notice reportedly issued by the Pakistani military has elapsed, tensions continue to linger among the local residents of Tamman Gorshani.
