Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday marked the inauguration and commencement of several development projects valued at approximately Rs 7,500 crore, spanning multiple sectors. Earlier, PM Modi, along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, paid homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Shirdi. During the visit, PM Modi also unveiled the new Darshan Queue complex at Shirdi, a cutting-edge facility designed to offer devotees a comfortable waiting area with modern amenities.
The newly inaugurated Darshan Queue complex, initiated by the Prime Minister back in October 2018, boasts multiple waiting halls accommodating over ten thousand devotees. Designed with modern amenities, such as air-conditioned facilities, cloakrooms, toilets, booking counters, prasad counters, and an information center, it aims to enhance the spiritual experience for visitors.
Simultaneously, PM Modi also dedicated the left bank canal network of the Nilwande Dam to the nation. This extensive 85km network will benefit 182 villages across 7 Tehsils, with pipe distribution networks ensuring efficient water supply. The Nilwande Dam, conceptualized as early as 1970, is being constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 5177 crore.
During the public program, the Prime Minister also launched the ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana’.
The yojna is set to benefit over 86 lakh recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Maharashtra, offering an additional annual amount of Rs 6000 to support their livelihoods.
During the event, the Prime Minister also unveiled various development projects, including the Ayush Hospital at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital, the Electrification of the Kurduwadi-Latur Road railway section spanning 186 km, and the expansion of the third and fourth railway lines connecting Jalgaon to Bhusaval over a stretch of 24.46 km. Additionally, he inaugurated the four-laning of the Sangli to Borgaon section of NH-166 (Package-I) and unveiled supplemental facilities at the Manmad Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Furthermore, the foundation stone for the Maternal and Child Health Wing at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital was laid by the Prime Minister.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Goa for the inaugural ceremony of the 37th National Games.
