A suspected terrorist incident occurred at a conference center in Kalamassery, in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, on Sunday morning, leaving one person dead and around thirty-six injured. According to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, some of the injuries are serious.
Over 2,000 people had assembled for a “Jehovah’s Witness” convention when multiple explosions, according to witnesses, occurred. The preliminary analysis points to a terror strike, especially given the frequency of explosions. An NIA team, a bomb squad, and a forensics team have arrived at the location.
According to Assistant Commissioner ACP Thrikkakara, there has been one confirmed death from the explosions, and around 36 people have been hurt, some of whom are critically injured. Furthermore, he stated that it was verified that there were several explosions, not just one. “An investigation is underway, and all investigating agencies are on the scene. It will be determined through investigation if this is a bomb blast. 36 were injured, and one died. Things are under control.
A subset of Christians who do not consider themselves protestants are known as “Jehovah’s Witnesses.” The Jehovah’s Witness Convention is an annual event that consists of bigger assemblies known as “Regional Conventions,” which typically last three days, from Friday to Sunday.
