Party General Secretary KC Venugopal emphasized the objective of the Congress’ Bharat Nyay Yatra, stating that the goal is ‘Sabke liye Nyay’ (Justice for everyone). The Yatra, announced on Wednesday, is set to commence on January 14 in Imphal, Manipur, and conclude on March 20 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, covering 14 states and 85 districts.

Venugopal explained, “This Yatra is going to start on January 14th from Imphal and end on March 20th in Mumbai. It will cover 14 states and 85 districts, including Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and finally Maharashtra.”

When asked about the yatra’s objective, Venugopal highlighted the name, Bharat Nyay Yatra, reflecting the mission of justice for all. He stated, “We want justice for women, youth, and common people. Now everything is going to rich people. We are stressing the Yatra for justice for poor people, youth farmers, and women.”

The Congress General Secretary clarified that while it is primarily a bus yatra, there will be walking stretches as well. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is set to flag off the Yatra on January 14 in Imphal.

Highlighting the significance of starting the yatra from East to West, Venugopal emphasized the need to address the concerns of the people of Manipur, stating, “This yatra is East-West; we have already done South-North yatra. Without Manipur, how can we do a yatra? We have to try to heal the pain of the people of Manipur.”

Rahul Gandhi, former Party president, will lead the Yatra, interacting with youth, women, and marginalized communities, covering a distance of 6,200 km through the mentioned states. The Yatra follows the Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, which covered 3,970 km, 12 states, and two Union territories over more than 130 days. The impact of the yatra was notable during the polls in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, with the Congress observing a significant increase in strike rate and vote share. The Yatra traveled 511 km in Karnataka over 22 days between Gundlupet constituency and Raichur Rural constituency.
