Northern India continues to live under the chilling cold as the winter season kicks in, in states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana as visibility remains negligible. The direct impact of the weather conditions was seen on the schedule of flights and trains.
Yesterday itself, around 100 flights were delayed and that streak continues. Railways and Aircraft remain impacted due to visibility being very low.
The weather department has now issued a warning for very dense fog for Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh till the New Year. Visibility during this period is predicted to hover at around 50-200 meters only.
In other weather-related news, a rainfall warning has also been issued for Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The southern State of Tamil Nadu may also receive drizzles on December 31 and January 1.
