PM Modi Inaugurates Revamped Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Railway Station followed by flagging off the two new Amrit Bharat and six new Vande Bharat trains, PM Modi dedicated multiple railway projects to the nation. Ayodhya is brimming with enthusiasm and anticipation upon his arrival at Ayodhya earlier in the day.

This marks the new developmental and modern era of Ayodha alongside its divine makeover. Prime Minister interacted with the students onboard the Amrit Bharat train. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, PM Modi inspected the decorated Amrit Bharat train, evaluating its features and amenities.

The first phase of the revamped Ayodhya railway station, now known as Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, has been executed at a cost exceeding Rs 240 crore. This modern three-storey station incorporates elevators, escalators, food plazas, shops catering to religious needs, cloakrooms, child care rooms, and waiting halls. The station is designed to be ‘accessible for all’ and is certified as a ‘green station building’ by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi is set to dedicate several other railway projects to the nation. His visit precedes the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple scheduled for January 22.

Around 1 pm, PM Modi is scheduled to participate in a public program, during which he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects exceeding Rs 15,000 crore in the state. This includes projects worth Rs 11,100 crore for Ayodhya and its surrounding areas, and projects totaling Rs 4600 crore for various initiatives across Uttar Pradesh.

The state-of-the-art Ayodhya airport’s Phase I development has incurred a cost of over Rs 1450 crore. The terminal building spans 6500 sqm and can accommodate about 10 lakh passengers annually. The terminal’s facade reflects the architectural style of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Adorned with local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram, the terminal is equipped with sustainable features such as insulated roofing, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaping with fountains, a water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, and a solar power plant.

The airport is expected to enhance regional connectivity, leading to increased tourism, business activities, and employment opportunities. PM Modi’s vision for Ayodhya encompasses the development of modern infrastructure, improved connectivity, and the rejuvenation of civic facilities while preserving the city’s rich history and heritage.

This vision is realized through the inauguration of the new airport, redeveloped railway station, widened and beautified roads, and other civic infrastructure projects. Foundation stones for additional projects will further contribute to the beautification and enhancement of civic facilities in and around the temple town.
