Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport on Saturday, this marked his return to Ayodhya after participating in Deepotsav the last year. Earlier in the day, there was an impressive roadshow upon his arrival in Ayodhya, PM Modi received an overwhelming and enthusiastic welcome from the residents of Ayodhya showered with flowers and petals.
Various prominent dignitaries, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, VK Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and Bharatiya Janata Party State President Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, accompanied the Prime Minister and welcomed him.
PM Modi’s schedule included the inauguration of the newly constructed Ayodhya airport after he inaugurated the Ayodhya Dham Railway station. Later in the day, after 1 pm, he is scheduled to participate in a public program, during which he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects costing over Rs 15,000 crore in the state.
The state-of-the-art airport’s Phase 1 development is worth over Rs 1450 crore. The terminal building, covering 6500 sqm, is equipped to serve approximately 10 lakh passengers annually. The Terminal Building’s facade is inspired by the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya. Adorned with local art, paintings, and murals describing the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram, the terminal is also equipped with sustainability features, including an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaping with fountains, a water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, and a solar power plant, earning it a GRIHA 5-star rating.
The airport is expected to enhance air connectivity, leading to boost in tourism, increased business activities, and employment opportunities. In line with PM Modi’s vision, Ayodhya is undergoing comprehensive development, including a new airport, a redeveloped railway station, widened and beautified roads, and various other civic infrastructure projects.
The laying of foundation stones for additional projects will contribute to the beautification and enhancement of civic facilities in and around the temple town. This revival and divine makeover of Ayodhya helps bringing it back to limelight.
