PM Modi: ‘Modi 3.0’ to Strengthen Foundations of ‘Viksit Bharat’ in Third Term

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence on Wednesday that the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) will secure its third successive government in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He stated that the government’s focus in its third term, often referred to as ‘Modi 3.0,’ would be on strengthening the foundations of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).

During the debate on the motion of thanks in the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi launched a comprehensive critique of the Congress, accusing it of destroying public sector undertakings such as HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd) and Air India. He emphasized the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, expected in April-May, as an opportunity for the BJP to continue its governance.

In a similar vein, during his reply to the motion of thanks debate in the Lok Sabha on Monday, PM Modi confidently asserted that the BJP would return to power. “Only 100-125 days remain to go…I don’t go into numbers but I can see the mood of the country. He forecasted significant electoral success, suggesting that the NDA might surpass 400 seats, with the BJP securing 370 seats.

PM Modi’s mentioning of 370 seats apparently was a reference to the BJP-led government at the Centre scrapping Article 370 of the Constitution early in its second term in office. PM Modi highlighted the importance of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas’ (Together with All, Development for All) as a guarantee, not just a slogan. He outlined priorities for the next five years, including the transformation of public transport, the introduction of Bullet Trains, the expansion of Vande Bharat, and India’s leadership in the semiconductor and electronics industries.

He spoke about steps taken for the welfare of farmers and said “superfood millet produced by the small farmers of our village will be available in the world market”. Addressing concerns about the welfare of farmers, PM Modi mentioned the introduction of drones as a new strength for agriculture and predicted increased production in animal husbandry and fish farming. He refuted Congress allegations against the government, citing the positive transformation of PSUs like Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited). Congress party and UPA cannot run away from their failure. Today, the BSNL that you destroyed in it is moving towards Made in India 4G and 5G. The Prime Minister claimed that HAL, once allegedly destroyed by Congress, is now Asia’s largest helicopter manufacturing factory with record revenue generation.  ”We have turned around the story. Today LIC’s shares are breaking records,” he said.
