Amit Shah declares realization of long-awaited Ram temple dream under Modi government in Lok Sabha

Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Saturday that disregarding the Ram Mandir movement would be overlooking a crucial part of the country’s history, highlighting that the longstanding aspiration for the grand temple in Ayodhya was realized during the tenure of the Modi government. Speaking during a discussion in the Lok Sabha on the ‘Construction of historic Shri Ram Temple and Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ramlala’, Shah emphasized that those who cannot envision India without Lord Ram are unfamiliar with the essence of the nation and are reminiscent of colonial-era ideologies.

“No one can understand the true history of our nation without acknowledging the significance of the Ram Mandir movement. Since 1528, each generation has witnessed this movement in various forms. This issue remained unresolved for a considerable period, but it was finally actualized during the tenure of the Modi government,” Shah remarked.

He referred to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted the rituals, deeming it a monumental occasion. The unveiling of the idol of Ram Lalla following the Pran Pratistha rituals marked a historic milestone.

“January 22 marked the dawn of a new era for India. Those who cannot fathom India without Lord Ram fail to grasp the essence of our nation, and they are reminiscent of colonial ideologies. January 22 will be etched in history for years to come. It was a day that fulfilled the long-held hopes and aspirations of all devotees of Lord Ram,” Shah remarked.

The Home Minister further highlighted the significant influence of the Ramayana on traditions and national consciousness across various languages and regions, emphasizing the inseparability of India’s culture from the epic tale of Ramayana.
