Amidst the ongoing farmers’ protest along the Punjab-Haryana borders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rewari on Friday and underscored his government’s commitment to implementing schemes for the welfare of farmers.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted that the central government has facilitated farmers’ access to bank loans, a previously unavailable guarantee. “We provided farmers with Modi’s guarantee… When banks hesitated to extend loans, we stepped in to support the farmers,” he emphasized.
PM Modi’s visit to Haryana carries significance, particularly with the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April and May this year. It coincides with the farmers’ protests in Punjab and Haryana, where they have launched a ‘Chalo Dilli’ march to advocate for their demands, including implementing Minimum Support Price (MSP).
During his address to the public, PM Modi took several jabs at the former Congress-led UPA government at the Centre. He also underscored his administration’s accomplishments over the past decade, notably including the landmark achievement of the moon landing event.
Prior to his speech, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects totaling more than Rs 9750 crore in Rewari, Haryana.
