Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) hosted its grand event, the ‘BIMTECH Business Literature Festival’ at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, which received a remarkable response. Distinguished personalities like Shiv Shivakumar, Ravi Kant, R Gopalakrishnan, Harit Nagpal, Harish Bhat, Prabina Rajib, and SS Dubey graced the occasion, enriching it with their insights.
The festival aimed to cultivate a culture of reading business literature among students and professionals. It featured renowned authors, editors, emerging writers, and esteemed journalists, fostering collaboration between literary figures and industry veterans.
Shiv Shivakumar emphasized the significance of reading books, stating that “A book is our best friend.” He highlighted the surge in reading during the COVID-19 pandemic, indicating a growing interest in education and the potential of the book industry. He urged individuals to commit to reading, asserting its role in expanding knowledge and curiosity.
The festival comprised six intellectually stimulating sessions, including panel discussions on topics such as ‘Strong women, Strong World’ and ‘Mind Matters: Nurturing Mental Wellness.’ Additionally, a masterclass on ‘Global Leadership through Poetry’ was organized by the ‘Majlis Club’ in collaboration with the UN Global Compact Network India.
The event also witnessed the launch of three new books: ‘Rx for Resilience’ by Dr. Saroj Dubey, ‘Enhancing Leadership Skills Through Deeper Self Awareness’ by Dr. Shivani Khetan, and ‘NEWSPRINT to HEARTPRINTS’ by Dr. Abhijit K. Chattoraj, Dr. Srinath Sridharan, and Ms. Saloni Sinha.
In a Fireside Chat, Harit Nagpal, author of ‘Adapt: To Thrive, Not Just Survive,’ discussed the importance of adaptability in a rapidly changing world. He compared adaptability to a chameleon, emphasizing the need for individuals and organizations to be agile and responsive.
The valedictory address by R. Gopalakrishnan commended the organizers for their meticulous planning and insightful sessions. Dr. Prabina Rajib, Director of BIMTECH, expressed satisfaction with the festival’s success, highlighting its role in promoting business literature among stakeholders.
