Good news for the students attempting board exams. The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the students in 10th & 12th standard will have an option to choose for attempting Board exams twice a year starting from the academic session 2025-26. Pradhan said that the plan aims to reduce academic stress and aligns with the objectives outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) introduced in 2020.
He emphasized that the NEP 2020 outlines biannual board examinations to offer students sufficient chances for academic achievement. As per the New Curriculum Framework (NCF) unveiled by the Ministry of Education in August of the previous year, board exams will occur at least twice annually to guarantee students have ample time and opportunity to excel. Additionally, they will have the choice to retain their best score.
At the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium in Raipur, Pradhan engaged with students during the event, assessing their response to the new examination structure and encouraging them to strive for excellence in both exam sessions.
He stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision through the NEP is to ensure students remain free from stress, receive high-quality education, stay connected with their culture, and equip them for the future. This formula is essential for transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.”
