Former Lok Sabha Speaker and distinguished politician, Manohar Joshi, bid farewell to the mortal world early Friday morning, succumbing to complications arising from a cardiac arrest. The 86-year-old stalwart breathed his last at 3 am in Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai, where he had been admitted on February 21.

Born on December 2, 1937, Joshi’s journey in public service began as he rose through the ranks to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999.
