Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and wrestler Sangeeta Phogat shared a heartwarming moment on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and a video showing their awkward banter went viral on social media.
In the video, Phogat is seen carrying Chahal on her back and twirling him around, much to the amusement of the viewers. But Chahal got dizzy and made a joke to stop him. This joyful interaction took place at a party organized to celebrate the end of the dance reality show, in which Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma emerged as the finalist.
Despite the party, former India captain Aakash Chopra expressed surprise over Chahal’s exclusion from his main contract for the 2023/24 season by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Chopra suggested that the decision was a sign that the selection committee was exploring alternative options.
“I’m surprised that Yuzi Chahal’s name is not there. Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan – their names are not there, I understand that. Even Deepak Hooda is like this. But Chahal’s name is not there; what does it mean? This seems to indicate that they (BCCI) are looking for another direction. This is confirmation of the theory. Chahal previously had a C-grade contract earning INR 1 Crore for the 2022/23 season, but he remains out of contract for the next season. Despite all the negativities, Chahal was happy at the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa party and enjoyed being with the other contestants and participants.
