Dulquer Salmaan Opts Out of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’? All We Know

Dulquer Salmaan was recently roped in to play a key role in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Thug Life’, starring Kamal Haasan. This created a fair deal of buzz in the industry as the biggie marked the Malayalam star’s first collaboration with ‘Ulaga Nayagan’,. Now, it appears DQ is no longer part of ‘Thug Life’. According to reports, he has opted out of the biggie due to a packed schedule. However, the team is yet to make an official announcement about the same.

Dulquer is a known name in Tamil cinema. He previously scored hits with ‘OK Kanmani’ and ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’. Given the names associated with Thug Life, it would have been a terrific addition to his filmography.

‘Thug Life’ is touted to be an action-thriller and features Kamal Haasan in a new avatar. The buzz is that Jayam Ravi, who previously collaborated with Mani Ratnam on ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, will have an extended cameo in the biggie but the makers are yet to issue a statement about the nature of his role. The cast also includes Trisha, Aishwarya Leksmi, Joju George, and Nassar.

Meanwhile, the first schedule of ‘Thug Life’ commenced on January 30. The makers filmed some intense action scenes with Kamal Haasan, Joju George, and Abhirami during the shoot.

Coming back to Dulquer, he is going through a challenging phase on the work front. He suffered a setback when ‘King of Kotha’, one of the most ambitious films of his career, bombed at the box office. The gangster drama was directed by Abhilash Joshiy and starred Aishwaya Leksmi as the leading lady.

Dulquer is expected to join the shoot of ‘Suriya 43’, directed by Sudha Kongara, in the coming days. He also has ‘Lucky Baskhar’, a Telugu film, in his kitty.
