Party leaders first held a panel meeting at Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh’s house in Delhi to discuss potential candidates for the upcoming elections in Rajasthan. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Janata Party won 24 out of 25 seats and BJP won 1 seat. The Congress won 34.6% of the votes in Rajasthan despite failing to win any seats.
After the meeting, Congress leader Sachin Pilot announced that a meeting of the Election Commission has been planned for March 7. Pilot asked them to hold a proper meeting and finalize the list of candidates now. He talked about strengthening Indian institutions and said the list would be published immediately when the elections approached.
Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh said that the conference identifies candidates who can win. Referring to the meeting held with partners in Rajasthan, Singh announced that the AICC India committee will decide on the establishment of the partnership in the state.
Singh criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly not fulfilling its promises; He listed unfulfilled promises such as bringing a better life, providing employment opportunities to 20 million young people, and recovering black money within 100 days. Doubling farmers’ income, creating smart cities, making women safe, and other things. Singh demanded that the BJP take responsibility for the budget deficit in the upcoming elections.
