‘Aadujeevitham’ X Review: Did Prithviraj Sukumaran Film Live Up to Expectations?

‘Aadujeevitham’, one of the biggest Malayalam films of the year, hit screens on March 28 amid much fanfare. The film featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead, is based on a real incident and revolves around a Malayali immigrant labourer who is forced into slavery on a secluded farm in Saudi Arabia.

‘Aadujeevitham’ has received favourable reviews from fans with many of them praising Prithviraj’s performance. Some of them also lauded the actor and director Blessy for believing in the film, which was announced in 2008 and faced numerous roadblocks in its production.

Here are some reactions:

‘Aadujeevitham’ is based on Benjamin’s 2008 novel of the same name but features a few sequences not mentioned in the book. The film features Amala Paul as the leading lady and is billed as a gamechanger for her. The cast also includes Shobha Mohan, KR Goklul, and Haitian actor Jimmy Jean-Louis.

‘Aadujeevitham’ has been released across 1,000 screens worldwide, which is likely to help it take a record opening at the box office. The film is produced by Blessy, Jimmy Jean-Louis, and Steven Adams. AR Rahman is the film’s music composer.

‘Aadujeevitham’ is Prithviraj’s first release of the year. The ‘Kaduva’ hero was last seen in ‘Salaar’, which emerged as a massive hit at the box office. The actioner, which featured Prabhas in the titular role, was directed by Prashanth Neel and produced under the Hombale Films banner.

Prithvi is awaiting the release of ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, slated to hit screens this Eid. The biggie features him as the antagonist and is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff headline the cast. The film will clash at the box office with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’.

Prithviraj is also working on ‘L2’, starring Mohanlal, and the comedy drama ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’. He will soon be beginning work on ‘Salaar 2’.
