Diljit Dosanjh is gearing up for the release of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, one of the most ambitious films of his career. The movie has created a great deal of buzz among fans as it delves into the life of the popular singer, fondly called the Elvis Presley of India. The fact that it is directed by Imtiaz Ali, best known for his work on ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Love Aaj Kal’, has further added to the curiosity supporting the biographical drama.
Speaking at the trailer launch of the film, Imtiaz said that Diljit’s time to shine is now and heaped praise on the Punjabi star.
“You have already achieved so much but I can guarantee this, this is just your beginning. Wherever you go, we will be with you. I am very happy this freshness came into my life of doing this film. I am thankful to Netflix who took it up with equal love,” he said.

Diljit, one of Punjabi cinema’s popular names, made his Bollywood debut with ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016). He then appeared in well-received Hindi films such as ‘Soorma’, ‘Good Newwz’, and ‘Jogi’. He will be hoping to further consolidate his standing in the industry with ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. The film stars Parineeti Chopra as the leading lady and is produced by Imtiaz Ali and Mohit Choudhary. It is set to premiere on Netflix on April 12.
Diljit, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of ‘Crew’. The heist comedy features him in the role of a government servant. Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon headline the cast. Kapil Sharma will be seen in a guest role in the film. ‘Crew’ is set to hit screens on Friday, March 28.
