Tamil Nadu Minister Udhanidhi Stalin Conducts Roadshow In Puducherry

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the country, Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK leader Udhanidhi Stalin conducted a roadshow in Willianur, Puducherry, underscoring the significance of the region in the electoral battle.

Criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Stalin highlighted Puducherry’s direct exposure to what he described as the BJP’s manipulative tactics, asserting its pivotal role in securing victory in the larger fight to safeguard India’s democracy.

Stressing the importance of securing seats in Puducherry, Stalin remarked, “A triumph for the alliance in Puducherry will contribute towards achieving our target of 40 to 40 in the Lok Sabha elections. Hence, we extend our support to Annan V. Vaidhyalingam, our candidate contesting in the Puducherry constituency.”

Taking a swipe at the Narendra Modi-led central government, he pledged to overcome what he termed as “fascists” attempting to establish a clandestine administration through appointed positions and vowed to reinstate democracy.

On social media platform X, Udhanidhi Stalin shared, “Today, we campaigned in Willianur, Puducherry, urging voters to support the hand symbol in solidarity with Annan V. Vaidhyalingam, the Congress candidate contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for the Puducherry parliamentary seat.”

He further expressed his belief that Annan Vaidyalingam’s victory would mark the initiation of the expulsion of what he referred to as “fascists” perpetuating a coalition government through coercion and intimidation in Puducherry.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Indian National Congress candidate V. Vaithilingam emerged victorious, securing the solitary seat in the Puducherry Parliamentary Constituency.

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections, spanning 543 seats across the nation, will be conducted in seven phases commencing from April 19. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4.
