India has taken a significant step in strengthening its partnership with Guyana by delivering 2 Dornier-228 aircraft to the country as part of a Line of Credit agreement. This delivery marks the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between the two nations.
An Indian Air Force team traveled to Guyana to deliver the HAL-228 aircraft, highlighting the close ties between India and Guyana. The High Commission of India in Guyana shared the news on social media platform X, stating, “High Commissioner welcomed IAF team visiting Guyana to deliver the HAL-228 aircrafts as part of Line of Credit from India to Guyana.” The post emphasized the start of a new phase in the India-Guyana partnership.
President of Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali, confirmed the arrival of the planes at Cheddi Jagan International Airport, noting that the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) had delivered two Dornier 228 planes to the Guyana Defence Force. These aircraft arrived on Sunday evening aboard two Boeing C-17 Globemaster military transport planes.
