Man Dies After Falling into Pit Dug by Water Board in Telangana

Tragedy struck on 7 Tombs Road in Hyderabad as a 78-year-old man riding a motorbike fell into a pit dug by the water board for repair work. The victim, identified as Ghulam Mohammad, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at a hospital, according to police reports on Tuesday.

The pit, intended for the repair of a drainage pipeline by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), was under the purview of Ayyappa Private Ltd., responsible for the contracted work.

Despite efforts to rush the elderly man to the hospital after the accident, he tragically passed away while undergoing treatment for his injuries.

In response to the incident, authorities have initiated legal action, registering a case of negligence under IPC 304(II) against individuals associated with both HMWSSB and Ayyappa Private Limited.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are currently ongoing, with further details expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
