Delhi court has imposed strict conditions on AAP leader Sanjay Singh to prevent any potential tampering with evidence or influence on witnesses in the Excise “scam” case. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja issued these directives as part of the process of releasing Singh from Tihar Central Jail following the bail granted to him by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Among the directives, Sanjay Singh is required to surrender his passport, provide details of his itinerary before leaving the National Capital Region (NCR), and ensure that his phone’s location is always accessible. These measures aim to ensure that Singh does not evade the legal proceedings or interfere with the investigation.
During the court proceedings, Singh’s counsel assured the court that Singh’s wife would act as a surety for him in the matter. The counsel emphasized Singh’s status as a Member of Parliament and argued against any flight risk associated with him.
In compliance with the court’s orders, the accused, Sanjay Singh, is obligated to furnish a personal bond of ₹2 lakh along with one surety of the same amount. These conditions signify the seriousness with which the court is approaching the Excise “scam” case and aim to maintain the integrity of the legal process.
