Israel On Alert For Major Cyber Assaults On Iran’s Jerusalem Day

The Directorate anticipates a rise in website attacks, service disruptions, and the dissemination of false information. Iranian Jerusalem Day, observed annually on the last Friday of Ramadan, is marked by demonstrations in Iran and the Palestinian Authority, as well as cyber offensive actions against Israel.

During this period, attacks are often identified, typically less sophisticated and easier to execute on a large scale. These may include website defacement, takeover of smart home systems, distribution of phishing text messages, social network hacking, infiltration of company databases, information leaks, and the publication of fictitious attack claims.
