Blinkit Customer’s Unusual Request for PlayStation 5 Playdate Captures Attention, CEO Responds

A Blinkit customer made an unconventional demand, leading to a humorous exchange between the customer and the company’s support team. Blinkit, a quick-commerce platform, recently announced its partnership with Sony for the swift delivery of the newly launched PlayStation 5 (PS5) Slim edition and controllers within a remarkable time frame of 10 minutes.

The incident unfolded when a user approached Blinkit’s customer support with a rather unique request. The individual, seemingly eager to turn a routine delivery into a memorable experience, expressed the desire for a PlayStation 5 playdate with the delivery agent. This unexpected demand quickly circulated online, prompting Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa to address the situation.

Sharing a screenshot of the chat exchange between the customer and the support team, Blinkit revealed the user’s request. The customer stated that they would only proceed with ordering the PS5 through the app under one condition: “Only if the rider stays back and plays FIFA with me.” Additionally, the user expressed the need for practice to outshine their friends in the game later on.

Despite the initial lack of response from Blinkit, the persistent customer followed up with multiple messages, adding to the amusement of onlookers. Social media platforms buzzed with reactions, with users finding humour in the scenario. Albinder Dhindsa, in response, conveyed his reaction with a face-palm emoji.

Commenting on the incident, one user suggested that Blinkit should explore new avenues, humorously proposing a “Gaming Buddy – As – A – Service” niche. Another user expressed interest in the idea, stating they would gladly order another PS5 if the delivery person stayed to play games like Rocket League or Genshin Impact. The humorous exchange even led to jests about the possibility of this becoming a new business vertical.

Meanwhile, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that customers in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai could now place orders for the new PlayStation 5 Slim or the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition, with delivery promised within 10 minutes. Additionally, the platform also made the PS5 DualSense controllers available for purchase.

The PlayStation 5 Slim is priced at ₹ 54,990, while the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition comes at ₹ 44,990. With Blinkit’s swift delivery services and the unexpected twist of a PlayStation 5 playdate request, the incident served as a lighthearted moment amidst the hustle and bustle of online commerce.
