Prannoy, seeded 13th, triumphed 21-18, 21-12 in a 45-minute contest. Although Roth held a brief three-point lead late in the first game, Prannoy made a strong comeback to take control. In the second game, Prannoy maintained his lead throughout, demonstrating his dominance at La Chapelle Arena.

A precise smash earned HS Prannoy two game points, which he converted after his opponent faltered at the net. Having previously secured bronze medals at the World Championships and the Asian Games last year, Prannoy appeared more confident in the second game. He quickly found his rhythm, effectively constructing rallies to establish a commanding 7-3 lead.
The 32-year-old Prannoy is set to face Vietnam’s Le Duc Phat, currently ranked 71st in men’s singles, in his final Group K match on Wednesday, July 31, at 11:00 PM IST.
