‘They Did A Favour By Sending Me To Jail..’: Sanjay Singh Exclusive On India News Manch

‘They Did A Favour By Sending Me To Jail..’: Sanjay Singh Exclusive On India News Manch

In a political conclave titled ‘Manch’ organized by India News today (July 29), Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh participated in a notable discussion with NewsX Editor Uday Pratap Singh. The topic of the session was ‘Chakravyuh mein AAP’.

Sanjay Singh was asked if he believes that his party, AAP, is trapped in a chakravyuh as AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in the jail, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia imprisoned, and Sanjay Singh was in jail, So do you believe AAP is entangled in a crisis?

“It’s worth considering why we are being caught in this situation. This happened because, under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, a new era of politics began in the country. He has been elected three times, and his work on education, water, electricity, and health has been significant. Initiatives like free bus rides for women and pilgrimage schemes for the elderly have garnered global attention, with Delhi’s education and health models being discussed worldwide. For instance, when Trump’s wife visited India, she wanted to see the schools created by Kejriwal and Sisodia. This is why we are being trapped in this crisis—because we are showcasing a new model of governance in Delhi and Punjab.”

He added saying, “Our leaders are in jail simply for political reasons. Sharad Chandra Reddy was arrested, and the ED claimed he was a key figure in corruption. After his arrest, he reportedly offered a bribe to the BJP, which led to his release. This shows that bribery is being done by the BJP in the Excise police case. There is a monstrous power given to the ED, which can imprison anyone. For example, Hemant Soren was held in jail for five months and later released with no evidence found against him. Similarly, I was imprisoned for six months, and even though the Supreme Court granted me bail, I am not allowed to discuss my case publicly. When permitted, I will present all the truths.”

Is the court biased?

Despite the court’s decisions, the bail orders have not been made available to the public, and the High Court has approved the release without proper orders.

On the Old Rajender Nagar Coaching Centre Tragedy:

Sanjay Singh said, “This is an extremely unfortunate incident where three children lost their lives. I pray to God to give strength to their families and peace to their souls. However, the coaching centers operating in basements in Delhi have been running for 20 years in illegal conditions, not just during AAP’s tenure. Since yesterday, illegal coaching centers have been closed down.”

He added saying, “A major issue in Delhi is that the Centre has given transfer and posting powers to the LG. This reflects a deep conspiracy by the BJP, LG, and officials to create a hellish situation for the people of Delhi, which we will expose in every street.”

On Haryana:

The BJP has been in power in Haryana for ten years, and during this time, corruption, paper leaks, and the devastation of Haryana have occurred. There is no MSP, and Agniveer has made life difficult for Haryana’s youth. You claim to be creating a youth army, but you are making the Prime Minister, aged 73, the PM for the third time, while retiring farmers’ children from the army in four years.

AAP and Congress: Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

You talk about “nameplate politics,” but you are actually putting up nameplates for voters. Why not put up nameplates for those who have looted crores, like Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Vijay Mallya, and your friend Adani, who aims to control all of India? You talk about putting up nameplates for show and to create public drama—whether Hindu or Muslim, Sikh or Christian, Dalit or backward. What kind of politics is this?

What is the Biggest Lesson Sanjay Singh Learned from Jail?

They sent me to jail, thinking I would break down, but in a way, they did me a favor. Had I not had this time, I wouldn’t have read so much. After going to jail, I read Nelson Mandela, “The Experiment of Truth,” Gandhi, “Freedom’s Devotees,” and Bhagat Singh. I read about great personalities every day. My willpower has strengthened, allowing me to fight and stand firm.
