In the murder case of a twenty-year-old girl who was fatally stabbed last week in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, a man has been taken into custody.
The body of the victim, Yashashree Shinde, was discovered on Saturday in the bushes close to a railway station in Uran, Navi Mumbai. She had been reported missing.
Mohsin, a resident of Karnataka, has been identified as the man detained by the Navi Mumbai police. Call details provided to the police revealed that he was in regular contact with Yashashree.
They are looking at his relationship to the principal accused.
It’s possible that Mohsin will be taken to Uran today to undergo additional questioning.
Authorities claim that the body had several wounds from stabs and other injuries, showing that she was killed severely.
“Our initial investigation suggests the woman was murdered after a love affair went wrong. The girl’s boyfriend had also gone missing with the girl and is yet to be found. He is the primary suspect. A case of murder has been registered and five police teams have been formed to trace him,” an official had said.
She used to work in Belapur, which is roughly 25 kilometers distant, and lived in Uran.
