In an ongoing Paris Olympics 2024, Indian archer Deepika Kumari has now advanced to the quarterfinal after defeating Germany’s Michelle Kroppen in the 16th round on Saturday.
Deepika beat Kroppen with a score of 6-4 at Les Invalides.

The senior campaigner Deepika Kumari in first set defeated Krobben with a score of 27-24. But the second set ended in a tie, as both archers levelled the score of 27.

Subsequently in the third set, Deepika won the set with a score of 26-25. However, Michelle made a comeback and clinched the fourth set with 29-27.
Despite the win at fourth set, Deepika Kumari kept her cool and levelled her score with German archer with 27 in fifth set. Thus, she qualified for quarterfinal.

She will now face Korean archer Nam S, which will be held in the later part of the day. Meanwhile, despite giving a tough fight, Bhajan Kaur was defeated by Indonesia’s Diananda Choirunisa with a score of 5-6 in the shootout.
