Nepal Unveils Preliminary Squad For Upcoming League 2 Tri-Series

Nepal has announced their preliminary squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series, scheduled for next month. The tri-series will feature matches against Canada and Oman. The 22 players selected for the closed training camp include many familiar faces, with the core of the squad from the recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and the initial League 2 tri-series retained, as confirmed by an ICC release.

Key players such as left-arm quick Pratis GC and all-rounder Abinash Bohara are notably absent from the squad. Both players had traveled to the USA and the Caribbean for the T20 World Cup in June. Additionally, Pawan Sarraf is sidelined due to injury; he had been part of Nepal’s League 2 campaign earlier this year. In an exciting development, all-rounder Basir Ahamad has been included in the preliminary squad after standout performances for Nepal. Also in contention for the tri-series are left-arm pacer Rijan Dhakal, seamer Kamal Singh Airee, and promising young quick Aakash Chand.
