Sunny Leone has undoubtedly made a significant impact in Bollywood, but the label of ‘adult film star’ from her past continues to follow her. In a recent interview, Sunny discussed how challenging she finds this label.
Reflecting on her early days in the industry, she spoke candidly about the judgment she faced because of her previous career in adult films. While she expected some criticism at the time, she expressed frustration that, even after 13 years, people still focus on her past.
Sunny Leone: It’s More Bothersome Now
In her latest interview, Sunny Leone stated, “I think that in my initial time being here in India, it is expected of the certain words or tag people use for you. That is completely normal. I think it’s more bothersome now that we are still talking about it. Come on! It’s been 13 years now since I have been here.”
She continued, “If you don’t let it go, how do we all move forward? So, it is high time. It is not a conversation piece which is interesting anymore. It’s something you know has happened in my life. We all have done a lot of work and grown in our own ways. I think it’s odd now that a publication uses it for traction.”
Sunny Leone gained prominence through Bigg Boss 5 and soon transitioned into acting, securing a leading role in Jism 2. Her film career continued with notable roles in movies such as Ragini MMS, Jackpot, Shootout at Wadala, Ek Paheli Leela, Kuch Kuch Locha Hai, Mastizaade, One Night Stand, and Raees, among others.
Before entering the entertainment industry, Sunny worked at a German bakery for a year and then at a tax and retirement firm. During this time, she also did a photoshoot for Penthouse Magazine, which led her into the adult entertainment industry.
