Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha attended a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan event at Battala in Agartala on Monday, ahead of the 78th Independence Day celebrations. The event, aimed at promoting cleanliness and hygiene within the community, was part of the larger nationwide campaign to maintain a cleaner and healthier environment.

Taking to the social media platform X, Saha said, “Proud to join the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign called by PM Narendra Modi. Contributed to its success by participating in a Swachh Bharat campaign at Battala market area today. Let’s celebrate our independence in a clean and dignified environment, reflecting the true spirit of freedom on Independence Day.”

The Chief Minister’s participation underscores the state’s commitment to the Swachh Bharat initiative, encouraging citizens to actively contribute to keeping their surroundings clean as a mark of patriotism and civic duty.

The campaign included cleaning streets, public spaces, and markets in the Battala area, with a special focus on waste segregation and the disposal of plastic waste. The Chief Minister also interacted with the participants, appreciating their contributions to the mission and encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.

This initiative is part of a series of activities organized by the Tripura government to celebrate Independence Day, reinforcing the state’s commitment to the national cleanliness drive and honoring the spirit of freedom with responsible civic action.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign across the nation. During this period, the central government urged citizens to hoist the tricolour on every house, shop, and office.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes as part of the party’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day on August 15.

In the 112th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on July 28, Prime Minister Modi called upon all Indians to take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to celebrate Independence Day.
