The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the schedule for NEET UG 2024 state-wise counselling. This process will determine admission to medical colleges across India, with state counselling committees handling approximately 85% of the available seats, while the remaining 15% will be allocated through the All-India Quota (AIQ) by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Key Dates for NEET UG 2024 Counselling:

  • Online Registration: All states are required to start the registration process from August 21 and complete it by August 29, 2024.
  • Karnataka: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has closed the registration for NEET UG 2024. The verification schedule will be announced soon.
  • Madhya Pradesh: The Department of Medical Education will close the registration window on August 20, 2024.
  • Punjab: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, is currently accepting applications for MBBS and BDS admissions. The deadline to apply is August 15, 2024, with fee payments allowed until August 16, 2024.
  • Uttar Pradesh: The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) will start the registration on August 20, with the application deadline set for August 24 at 2 pm. The merit list will be released on the same day, and the choice-filling process will run from August 24 to August 29. The Round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on August 30.

Counselling Process Overview:

  1. Registration and Fee Payment: Candidates must register and pay a non-refundable fee for the 15% AIQ counselling.
  2. Choice Filling: Candidates will select and lock their preferred medical colleges and courses.
  3. Seat Allocation: The authorities will process these choices and post the seat allocation results on the MCC website, mcc.nic.in.
  4. Document Verification: Selected candidates must upload necessary documents and report to the assigned medical or dental college.
  5. Round Two: Those allocated a seat in Round 1 can opt for a transfer to Round 2 by reporting to the institution with original documentation.

Additionally, candidates seeking admission to the BSc Nursing course at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals under Military Nursing Services (MNS) will also be considered based on their NEET UG 2024 scores.
