Adani Green Powers Up World’s Largest Renewable Energy Park

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), India’s premier renewable energy (RE) firm and the world’s second-largest solar PV developer, has successfully activated 551 MW of solar capacity in Khavda, Gujarat, by integrating power into the national grid. Achieving this feat within just 12 months of initiating operations at the KhavdaRE park, AGEL commenced with foundational infrastructure development, encompassing roads, connectivity, and a self-sustaining social ecosystem. Moreover, AGEL’s transformation of the arid Rann of Kutch terrain into a viable environment for its 8,000-member workforce underscores its commitment to sustainability.

With plans to establish 30 GW of renewable energy capacity at the Khavda RE park, AGEL aims to complete this massive undertaking within the next five years. Upon completion, this project will stand as the largest renewable energy installation globally. Notably, the energy generated from the Khavda RE park has the potential to power 16.1 million households annually.

Leveraging its proven expertise in developing large-scale renewable projects, a resilient supply chain network, and advanced technology, AGEL is poised to construct this unparalleled giga-scale plant, setting new benchmarks in the global clean energy sector. The strategic location of the region, endowed with abundant wind and solar resources, makes it an ideal hub for large-scale RE development. AGEL’s commitment to supporting indigenous and sustainable supply chains is evident through extensive studies and innovative solutions deployed to expedite plant development.

Chairman of Adani Group, Mr. Gautam Adani, stated, “Adani Green Energy is spearheading the creation of one of the world’s most extensive renewable energy ecosystems for solar and wind.” He emphasized AGEL’s role in establishing global benchmarks and revolutionizing planning and execution standards for giga-scale renewable energy projects, exemplified by the Khavda RE plant’s milestone achievement. This success reaffirms the Adani Group’s dedication to India’s clean energy transition journey, aligned with the nation’s ambitious goals of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and attaining carbon neutrality.

As India leads the discourse on a sustainable energy future worldwide, AGEL remains steadfast in its commitment to facilitating the transition to affordable and reliable clean energy sources.
