Omid Kordestani, the former Chairman of Twitter, has launched a legal battle against Elon Musk’s revamped social media platform, X. Kordestani is seeking over $20 million in stock that he claims he is owed but has not received.
Kordestani served as Twitter’s executive chairman from 2015 to 2020 and continued as a board member for two additional years. His lawsuit alleges that Musk, who acquired Twitter for $44 billion and rebranded it as X, is refusing to settle the stock-based compensation promised during his tenure.

The lawsuit, filed in California’s Superior Court in San Francisco, accuses X Corp. of benefiting from Kordestani’s years of service without compensating him appropriately. This legal action is part of a broader series of disputes involving Musk and former Twitter executives. Earlier this year, four ex-executives filed a lawsuit claiming that Musk withheld over $128 million in severance payments after their departures.
X Corp. has not commented on the lawsuit.
Before joining Twitter, Kordestani was a well-known figure in the tech industry, having held significant roles at Alphabet Inc.’s Google.
