India-Pak T20 World Cup 2024 Tickets Hit Rs 1.8 Crore in New York!

With the T20 World Cup 2024 on the horizon, the excitement among cricket fans from India and Pakistan is palpable. However, alongside the anticipation for the event, another aspect that is soaring is the ticket prices. The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan at the upcoming T20 World Cup in New York has seen ticket prices skyrocket to an astonishing Rs 1.8 crore, according to a report by Times Now.

Matches between these arch-rivals are rare occurrences, typically reserved for international events, and they stir immense fan excitement, particularly when it comes to ticket sales. The upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 match, scheduled for Sunday, June 9, in New York, follows this trend. Initially offered at six dollars (approximately Rs 500) during the official sale, ticket prices have surged significantly in the resale markets.

During the India vs Pakistan match, the most expensive ticket for premium seats was priced at 400 dollars, equivalent to over Rs 33,000. Given the significance of this event for cricket’s growth in the US, the match is expected to draw considerable attention and will undoubtedly be a highlight in New York.

Resale platforms such as Stubhub and SeatGeek have witnessed unprecedented spikes in ticket prices. Initially priced at 400 dollars, tickets for the event are now fetching a staggering 40,000 dollars, equivalent to over Rs 33 lakhs. After factoring in platform fees, the amount escalates to 50,000 dollars, or over Rs 41 lakhs.

For comparison, the average ticket for Super Bowl 58 sold for 9,000 dollars, surpassing Rs 7 lakhs on the secondary market, as reported by USA Today cited in the Times Now report.

SeatGeek, another resale platform, has seen exorbitant prices, particularly for the India vs Pakistan match. The priciest ticket was listed at a whopping 175,000 dollars, exceeding one crore rupees. Including platform charges and additional fees, the figures soar to approximately Rs 1.86 crore.

It’s noteworthy that during the 2016 T20 World Cup semifinal hosted by India, the lowest ticket price was set at Rs 750, highlighting the dramatic escalation in ticket prices for the upcoming India-Pakistan clash.
