Indigo Introduces Four Weekly Trichy-Abu Dhabi Flights: New Route Launched

Indigo has introduced a new flight service connecting Trichy International Airport with Abu Dhabi, enhancing connectivity for the large NRI community from Tamil Nadu’s central districts working in the UAE.

Flight Details:

  1. New Flight Service: The newly launched flight service marks a significant addition to the route network, catering to the growing demand for travel between Trichy and Abu Dhabi.
  2. Maiden Flight: The inaugural flight, arriving at 6:40 AM, was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute. It carried 173 passengers. The return flight was fully booked, with 186 passengers making the journey back to Abu Dhabi.
  3. Frequency and Schedule: The service will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight 6E1493 departs Trichy at 7:30 AM and lands in Abu Dhabi at 10:00 AM. The return flight, 6E1494, leaves Abu Dhabi at 12:55 AM and arrives back in Trichy at 6:30 AM.
  4. Increased Connectivity: With this new service, Trichy now offers seven weekly flights to Abu Dhabi, addressing the high demand from the expatriate community and boosting international passenger traffic.
  5. Impact on Trichy Airport: The addition of this flight is expected to further enhance international passenger traffic at Trichy Airport, which already handles approximately 1.3 million passengers annually.

This new route aims to facilitate easier travel for NRIs and strengthen the connectivity between Tamil Nadu and the UAE.
