IndiGo Q1 Results: Revenue Up 17%, Net Profit Down 11% for April-June Quarter

IndiGo’s revenue from operations for the April-June quarter increased by 17.3% to ₹19,571 crore, according to the airline’s earnings report released on Friday. This is up from ₹16,683 crore in the same quarter of 2023.

However, the airline’s net profit or profit after tax for the quarter fell by 11.7% to ₹2,729 crore, compared to ₹3,091 crore reported in the same quarter of 2023.

InterGlobe Aviation, IndiGo’s parent company, released its financial results for the first quarter of FY 2024-25 today. During this period, the airline’s passenger numbers rose by 6.2% to 27.8 million.

“I am pleased to report another strong quarterly financial performance for the first quarter of FY 2025. We achieved an 18% increase in total income, reaching ₹202.5 billion, with a net profit of ₹27.3 billion, resulting in a solid margin of around 14%,” said Pieter Elbers, CEO. “In a few days, we will celebrate our 18th anniversary and unveil new initiatives to address evolving market developments and customer feedback.”

As of June 2024, IndiGo’s fleet comprised 382 aircraft, including 38 A320 CEOs, 196 A320 NEOs, 98 A321 NEOs, 45 ATRs, 3 A321 freighters, and 2 B777 (on damp lease), marking a net increase of 15 passenger aircraft during the quarter.

The airline operated up to 2,029 daily flights, including non-scheduled ones. IndiGo offers scheduled services to 88 domestic and 30 international destinations.
