Reliance Consumer Products Collaborates with Sri Lanka’s Elephant House Beverage Brand

Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL)’sFMCGdivision, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary, said on Wednesday that it has teamed up with Elephant House, a company based in Sri Lanka, to produce, market, distribute, and sell beverages under the Elephant House brand throughout India. According to a press release from the company, this partnership will not only help Reliance strengthen its expanding beverage portfolio—which includes well-known brands like Campa, Sosyo, and Raskik—but it will also introduce remarkable new products and value propositions to Indian consumers.

The largest listed conglomerate in Sri Lanka, John Keells Holdings PLC, owns Elephant House through its subsidiary, Ceylon Cold Stores PLC. It produces and markets a variety of drinks under the Elephant House brand, such as Necto, Cream Soda, EGB (Ginger Beer), Orange Barley, and Lemonade. “Elephant House is a well-known brand with a rich history and strong market credibility. Reliance Consumer Products Limited COO Ketan Mody stated, “This partnership will not only add its beloved beverages to our expanding FMCG portfolio, but it will also offer our Indian consumers great choice and value proposition through quality products.”

“Being the custodian of several renowned global brands in India, Reliance is well-equipped to further expand Elephant House’s established consumer brand, which has been built over 150 years,” Mody added.

Additionally, in order to reach more customers in a variety of markets, it is quickly expanding its multi-channel operations. With the exception of Maliban, the leading biscuit brand in Sri Lanka, the company’s portfolio of FMCG products includes iconic beverage brands like Campa and Sosyo Hajoori, a wide variety of confectionery like Lotus Chocolates and Toffeeman, and snacks like Alan’s Bugles and Masti Oye. Additionally, the Independence brand is used for everyday convenience items and staples.
