Voltas Shares Soar To Record High Following Stellar Earnings And Operational Performance

Shares of Voltas surged over 9% to reach an all-time high of ₹1,563 apiece on August 12, driven by a robust set of earnings for the April-June quarter and impressive operational results. At 10:35 AM, the stock was trading slightly below this peak at ₹1,555 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The remarkable quarterly earnings also triggered a significant spike in trading volumes, with 54 lakh shares changing hands so far, well above the average daily volume of 11 lakh shares over the past month.

For the April-June quarter, the Tata group company reported a substantial net profit of ₹334.20 crore, marking nearly a threefold increase from ₹129.30 crore recorded in the same period last fiscal year. Revenue also saw a notable 46.50% year-over-year growth, climbing to ₹4,921 crore from ₹3,359.90 crore in the base period.

This impressive revenue growth was primarily driven by the company’s core Unitary Cooling Products (UCP) segment, which accounted for approximately 77% of Voltas’ total quarterly sales. The UCP segment saw a 51% increase in year-over-year sales, with margins improving by 40 basis points to 8.6%.

Another highlight of the quarter was the significant turnaround in Voltas’ Electro-Mechanical Projects and Services (EMPS) business. The EMPS segment achieved a 40% year-on-year revenue growth and a positive margin of 7.1%, contributing nearly 20% to Voltas’ total sales for the June quarter.

These strong performances in its major segments positively impacted Voltas’ overall operational results for Q1. The company’s EBITDA margin expanded by 310 basis points to 8.6%, compared to 5.5% in the same quarter the previous year. This operational efficiency, combined with stellar financial performance, contributed to the record high in Voltas’ share price.
