Zepto Launches ‘Shagun Ka Lifafa’ This Rakshabandhan

The brother – sister day is coming, as this August 19 is Rakshabandha. It is an Indian Hindu festival where sisters tie rakhis (wristbands) on the wrists of their brothers, and brothers vow to take care of their sisters.

Raksha Bandhan, or Rakhi, is a Hindu festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters. Held annually in August, sisters tie a sacred thread (rakhi) around their brothers’ wrists, symbolizing their love and the promise of protection. In return, brothers give gifts and vow to safeguard their sisters. The festival involves rituals such as applying a tilak (mark) on the brother’s forehead and performing an aarti (ceremonial light offering). Raksha Bandhan is a joyous occasion that highlights familial love and the enduring promise of mutual support and protection.

Elevate your Raksha Bandhan celebrations this long weekend with Zepto’s exciting new campaign, “Rakhi Aapki, Lifafa Humara.” Zepto is infusing festive cheer with a contemporary spin on the traditional Shagun ka Lifafa.

Following the success of its third anniversary campaign, which saw an impressive 750,000 orders, Zepto aims to surpass expectations this Raksha Bandhan by delivering over 3.5 million orders in just three days.

The brand is giving the classic Shagun ka Lifafa a Zepto twist. Inside this special Raksha Bandhan lifafa, both brothers and sisters will find a scratch card offering a chance to win prizes totaling Rs. 5 crores, including cars, a luxurious trip to Dubai, iPhones, TVs, speakers, washing machines, and more exciting gifts! And the best part? Every lifafa has a prize—no one, including the brothers, will be left empty-handed.

Zepto has also released a fun rap ad-film that captures the playful, teasing, and loving nature of sibling relationships, complete with a catchy tune sure to bring a smile.

“Shagun ka Lifafa is a cherished tradition during Raksha Bandhan, and we wanted to elevate the sibling rivalry to a whole new level,” said Chandan Mendiratta, Chief Brand Officer at Zepto. “We’re excited to collaborate with Dabur and other partners like Easemytrip, Ariel, and Tide to offer exclusive prizes and experiences, making this festival even more memorable.”
