The Directorate of Education (DOE) in Delhi has unveiled the Delhi School Calendar 2024, outlining the holiday schedule for government and government-aided schools in the national capital. According to the calendar, the upcoming summer break will commence from May 11 and extend until June 30 this year. As the academic session kicked off on April 1 amidst rising temperatures in Delhi, students can look forward to a well-deserved vacation period.
Citing Rule 31 and Rule 32 of DSEAR, 1973, along with a notification from the General Administration Department Co-Ordination Branch, GNCT of Delhi, the DOE specified the summer vacation duration for the year 2024. Accordingly, students in Delhi schools will enjoy a break of one month and 19 days. The academic session for 2024-25 will span across 220 working days.
For school teachers, June 28 to 30 will be designated as working days. Additionally, the autumn break is scheduled to run from October 9 to October 11, while the winter vacation will stretch from January 1 to January 15.

Additionally, students will have preparatory breaks between exams, the timing of which will be determined by individual school examination schedules.
The Delhi school annual calendar, finalized on February 1, was developed in collaboration with deputy directors of education and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). This comprehensive schedule ensures clarity and facilitates planning for students, teachers, and parents alike.
