Amid swirling rumors about a possible separation between Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan reportedly addressed the ongoing speculation in an interview with Bollywood UK Media.
For some time, social media has been abuzz with rumours of a potential divorce between the couple. The speculation gained traction after Abhishek and Aishwarya arrived separately at a high-profile wedding last month. Further fueling the rumours, Abhishek liked an Instagram post discussing the rise of “grey divorces.”
Showing his wedding ring, Abhishek said, “Still married.” He added, “I don’t have anything to say to you all about that. You all have blown the entire thing out of proportion, sadly. I understand, why you do it. You have to file some stories. It’s okay, we’re celebrities, we have to take it.”

The Instagram post, which Abhishek Bachchan liked, stated, “Yet, sometimes life doesn’t unfold as we hoped. Coincidentally, ‘grey divorces’ or ‘silver splitters’-terms for those seeking marital dissolution typically after age 50-are on the rise globally. The reasons, though varied, are not surprising.”
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot in 2007 and welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in November 2011.
To mark their 17th wedding anniversary this past April, Aishwarya shared a throwback photo from their engagement ceremony, selecting an image from their wedding album. Her caption consisted of just a few emojis.
The couple has appeared together in several films, including Guru, Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Naa Kaho, Dhoom 2, and Umrao Jaan.
