Actor Sunny Hinduja Opens Up on Limited Screen Time in ‘Yodha’, His Future Plans | Exclusive

Sunny Hinduja  garnered attention with his work in the action-thriller ‘Yodha’, which hit screens on March 18. The film features him in a negative role and marks his first collaboration with Sidharth Malhotra.

In an exclusive interview with News X, Sunny opened up about hs limited screen time in the film, working with the ‘Shershaah’ actor and prepping for action scenes. He also expressed a desire to bring happiness to fans through his work.

Edited excerpts from the interview:

Q) What made you give the nod to ‘Yodha’?

It is a Dharma film with a good script and comes from good people. Moreover, the character was complex. All these factors made me take it up.

Q) How did you prepare for the action scenes in the film?

There was an able team from South Africa and they trained me well for the fight scenes.  This helped a lot. The diet was also an important part of the prep. Then, of course, there was a lot of going with the flow. So, it was a mix of everything.

Q) Is an action role tougher than what you did in ‘Aspirants’?

Both sides of the spectrum are equally challenging as acting in itself is a challenge. You need to forget yourself and come as close as possible to character during the process, which is quite a task.

Q) How was the experience of working with Sidharth Malhotra?

It was a good experience to work with him. He had seen my work and was happy about it. We had many conversations during the shoot. Both of us, in fact the whole team, worked towards making the scenes better and more powerful.

Q) You had limited screen time in ‘Yodha’.

The role has to be wholesome and I felt this was the case with Yodha. I don’t think that much about the screen time. It is not important right now, I know, it will increase gradually.

Q) Do you adopt a different approach when you work in web series?

The approach depends on the character and script in question. The medium is not a factor.

Q) How did you get interested in acting?

I was enamored by the world of films even as a child. I would totally get lost in that space when I used to watch films. That bond with cinema was formed when I was in the third standard. Over time, woh beejh pedh ban gaya.

Q) What type of roles do you plan to do going ahead?

I want to explore all genres and do a variety of roles. I am open to everything. However, the biggest aim is to do roles and characters that bring joy to the audience.
