The star of Emily in Paris might soon swap Parisian pastries for British fish and chips if her hopes for the show come true. British actress Lily Collins, 35, raised in Los Angeles, expressed her enthusiasm for a potential London-based spin-off for the popular Netflix series.

Is Emily Heading To London?

After her debut on the West End, Collins shared her vision, saying, “I hope Emily heads to London. Emily In Rome

The last season’s finale hinted at new job and romance opportunities in Rome, and series creator Darren Star revealed that Emily will have “a presence” in Italy, explaining that she has “grown comfortable in Paris” and needs a fresh challenge.

French President Emmanuel Macron, however, has voiced his intent to keep the series based in Paris, citing the show’s positive economic impact, with tourism boosted and more inquiries coming in for Parisian properties.

According to a recent study by France’s National Centre for Cinema and Animation, Emily in Paris influenced 38% of tourists visiting the city.

Macron told Variety he would “fight hard” to keep the show rooted in Paris, emphasizing, “Emily in Paris in Rome doesn’t make sense.” Macron’s wife, Brigitte, recently made a cameo in the series, where her character meets Emily in a restaurant and tells her she follows her on Instagram. The president noted that he was “super proud” of her brief appearance, which he described as a “very good moment for her.”
