Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan reminisced about the era when actors performed action sequences in movies without the safety measures available today. In his recent Instagram post, the Bollywood legend shared a picture from the set of his 1979 film ‘Mr Natwarlal’, where he can be seen jumping from a ’30-foot cliff’.
Accompanying the photo, Bachchan wrote, “.. performing a stunt from a 30-foot cliff for an action scene .. no safety harness, no digital face replacement, no visual effects .. and landing .. well .. on mattresses .. if you were fortunate .. ‘Those were the days my friend’. (sic)”

As Bachchan shared the post, his fans praised him for his remarkable acting prowess. Actress Shilpa Shirodkar commented on his post, declaring, “You were and will always be the best forever Amitji. (sic)” Maanayata Dutt, wife of actor Sanjay Dutt, expressed her admiration with a heart emoji in the comments section.
During his earlier years, Amitabh Bachchan performed numerous stunts in his action movies such as ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Don’, ‘Laawaris’, ‘Kaalia’, and ‘Trishul’. He gained the moniker of ‘Angry Young Man’ following his role in the 1973 film ‘Zanjeer’. However, he also faced several injuries while executing these action sequences. In 1982, Bachchan encountered a life-threatening injury while filming ‘Coolie’, which required multiple surgeries and an extended hospital stay.
Last year, the actor suffered a rib cage injury on the set of Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, his upcoming cinematic venture. Bachchan disclosed in his blog post that he experienced a “popping” of his rib cartilage while filming an action sequence.
