‘Bad Newz’, which opened in theatres on July 19, is doing decent business in its second week despite the release of the Hollywood biggie ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’. The film held its own against the superhero flick on Saturday (July 27) and is now set to cross the Rs 50 crore mark in India.
‘Bad Newz’ Has a Decent Second Saturday
Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Bad Newz’ has sprung a surprise at the domestic box office despite receiving mixed reviews. The film collected a decent Rs 3.52 crore (nett) on its second Saturday (July 27) even though it faced competition from Shawn Levy’s ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’. The comedy drama’s total collection Rs 49.86 crore. It is set to cross the Rs 50 crore mark today (July 28)

‘Bad Newz’ is doing well in Mumbai and Delhi. However, it hasn’t done too well in the mass pockets. The film also faced competition from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in its first week. However, ‘Indian 2’ and the Akshay Kumar-led ‘Sarfira’ didn’t have an impact on it as they failed to soar at the box office.
‘Bad Newz’ is expected to grow further today (July 28), its second Sunday. Its performance will, however, be affected by ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’. The Hollywood film is the top choice of moviegoers in the metros. The dubbed versions too have found an audience in the B and C Centres.

‘Bad Newz’ is a comedy-drama, directed by Anand Tiwari. It revolves around Saloni, a chef, who finds herself in an unusual situation after a “night of passion”. She is then forced to make a harsh decision. ‘Bad Newz’ features Triptii Dimri, Vicky Kaushal, and Ammy Virk. Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma make special appearances in the film, which is spiritual sequel to Akshay Kumar’s ‘Good Newwz, which hit screens in 2019.
