Day 1: Rs 8.3 crore

Day 3: Rs 11.15 crore

Day 4: Rs 3.5 crore

Day 5 Rs 3.75 crore

Day 6: Rs 3.25 crore

‘Bad Newz’ faced no competition from Akshay Kumar’s underdog saga ‘Sarfira’ and the Shankar-directed vigilante thriller ‘Indian 2’, especially in Hindi as both films failed to take off at the box office. The Karan Johar-backed film, however, faced competition from the Prabhas-led ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ despite the fact that it was released a few weeks ago. The sci-fi actioner has emerged as a global sensation and is still the top choice of fans especially in the Hindi and Telugu markets. ‘Bad Newz’ faces a mighty opponent going forward in the form of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, which is slated to open in theatres on Friday (July 26).

What’s Bad Newz About?

‘Bad Newz’ is a comedy-drama, directed by Anand Tiwari. It revolves around Saloni, a chef, who finds herself in an unusual situation after a “night of passion”. She is then forced to make a harsh decision. ‘Bad Newz’ features Triptii Dimri, Vicky Kaushal, and Ammy Virk. Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma make special appearances in the film, which is a sequel in essence to Akshay Kumar’s ‘Good Newwz, which hit screens in 2019.

Bad Newz was released in theatres on July 19 and is currently playing in theatres.
