‘Bhabhi’ Star Dolly Sohi Dies of Cervical Cancer at 48, Hours After Sister’s Death

Actor Dolly Sohi died on Friday, March 8, in Navi Mumbai after a brief battle with cervical cancer. She was 48. Her family  issued a statement about the tragedy.

“Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode today early morning. We are in a state of shock with the loss. The final rites shall be conducted today afternoon. Will share further details”

This comes hours after her sister Amandeep died of jaundice on Thursday, March 7. Dolly’s brother Mannu Sohi told a leading website that the family is devastated by these deaths.

Dolly was diagnosed with cervical cancer nearly six months ago and had been unwell over the last few days. She was vocal about her battle with cancer and stayed connected with fans over social media. Last year, she shared a photo from a chemotherapy session with a long note. In it, she thanked her well-wishers for their support and expressed a desire to be a survivor.

The post read: THANK U EVERYONE FOR SENDING YOUR LOVE AND PRAYERS Life has been a Roller Coaster lately, But if u have the strength to fight with it then ur journey becomes easier. It’s up to u what do u choose to be A Victim Of Journey (CANCER) Or A Survivor Of Journey (sic).”

Dolly rose to fame with her work on the TV show ‘Bhabhi’, which aired on a popular channel from 2002 to 2008. He was also seen on shows such as ‘Kkusum’, ‘The Adventures of Hatim’, ‘Kalash’, and ‘Hitler Didi’. Amandeep, on the other hand, is best known for her performance on ‘Badtameez Dil’.

Dolly and Amandeep’s untimely deaths are a big blow for the TV industry.
