Bobby Deol To Lock Horns With Alia Bhatt As A Baddie In YRF Spy Universe: Reports

Bobby Deol gained immense popularity after starring as the antagonist opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. According to a recent Pinkvilla report, Bobby is now set to play the villain against Alia Bhatt in her upcoming YRF Spy Universe film. The unnamed project will mark another negative turn for Bobby post Animal. He will apparently portray a terrifying villain who confronts Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s characters. A source revealed that Bobby has already signed the dotted line and is thrilled to commence shooting in late 2024.

The insider revealed to a publication that Bobby’s role is tailor-made for him – full of swagger and accompanied by a distinct look. However, there has been no official confirmation yet regarding Bobby’s casting. This untitled movie will be the 7th installment in YRF’s Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2.

It is slated to be India’s most ambitious action film headlined by a female lead. The film aims to challenge the perception that action is a male-centric genre. YRF’s CEO Akshaye Widhani previously confirmed Alia’s standalone Spy Universe outing. He hinted that more films are in the pipeline but refrained from divulging details.

Meanwhile, Alia recently wrapped up shooting for Jigra co-starring Vedang Raina. She also has Jee Le Zara with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra and other projects are in the works.
