BTS Jin Initiates Countdown for Military Return: “D-100”

BTS Armies are eagerly awaiting the return of the group’s eldest member, Jin, as he marks the beginning of the countdown months ahead of his discharge from mandatory military service in South Korea. Jin, also known as Kim Seok-jin, commenced his military duty in December 2022 and recently shared a simple message on Weverse: “D-100.” With an anticipated discharge date around June 10-15 this year, Jin’s announcement has ignited excitement among fans, prompting an outpouring of supportive tweets and comments.

One fan expressed their anticipation on social media, stating, “Can’t wait for him to return,” while another eagerly remarked, “Just a little more patience, Jinie. Just 100 days more, and you’re back. Our Moon is going to come home soon.” The anticipation even extended to Jin’s trademark dad jokes, with one fan teasing, “Can’t wait for your dad jokes.”

For those unfamiliar, Jin commenced his 18-month military service at a boot camp located near the North Korean border. After completing a five-week training period alongside his fellow soldiers, he was assigned to an army unit. Prior to his enlistment, Jin bid farewell to fans with his characteristic humor on Weverse, referencing the character ‘Jhin’ from the video game ‘League of Legends’ with the phrase “Now it’s curtain call time.”

The BTS members rallied to support Jin as he embarked on his military journey. BTS leader RM shared insights into Jin’s mindset, highlighting his determination to pave the way for his bandmates. Jin’s commitment to experiencing the process firsthand was evident as he prepared for his service.

In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, BangtanTV captured BTS members bidding farewell to Jin during his Entrance Ceremony at the training center. Despite the temporary separation, Jin assured the BTS ARMY of his safe return. With RM and V having commenced their military service in December 2023, followed by Jimin and Jungkook at later dates, fans eagerly await the reunion of all seven members in 2025 following the completion of their mandatory duties.
